"Dodger is 17 years old. As a young cat and into middle age she was extremely active and healthy. At 12 years old she lost all the fur on her tummy. Her fastidious nature would not allow her to leave this alone so she eventually licked her tummy raw. She spent the next 4 years being medicated and in and out of an Elizabethan collar. Added to this she had developed arthritis in her front legs particularly. She could no longer jump up onto her bed or into the windows to watch the birds.
